Create an interactive tool to help families select the right type of long-term care.

Aligning Marketing Objectives with Customer Needs

Immanuel Communities, a multi-state leader in senior living, wanted to update their website and differentiate their brand. Useagility analyzed the existing site’s content, design and usability gaps and identified an opportunity for the company to leapfrog their competition by incorporating an interactive web-based tool to help users understand different types of senior living and long-term care facilities. The new tool made it easier for families to select the right type of long-term care for their loved ones.

Customer-Validated Design and Content

Useagility designed several different concepts for the new tool and website. Testing those prototypes with seniors and their adult children, referrers and caregivers garnered insights from users in real-time. With those insights, we refined the designs throughout the testing process.

In consumer-facing healthcare applications, using language that customers understand and identify with is critical to usability. By testing the core language in this application, we confirmed that it addressed key questions for both the user and the business.

Ultimately, the tool helps give consumers confidence that they are selecting the right type of care for their loved ones.


This project was a collaboration with Bailey Lauerman, an independent advertising agency that values user-centered design for innovation.
